We currently have a variety of earth tone yarns for sale. All yarn comes from our flock of sheep and herd of alpacas. This batch was processed at Wellington Fibres in Elora, Ontario. We offer a limited amount of pure alpaca yarn for $20.00 in a lovely 3 ply lace weight cream colour, which can also be dyed for an additional $5 per skein. We also have 50% alpaca/50% wool in a three ply sport weight for $15.00, in a scrumptuous chocolate colour, a heather dark brown, and a gorgeous beige. This yarn makes great socks, for a pair you need to buy two skeins, or you could get two pairs out of 3 skeins. Ask about Gretchen's very own garter socks pattern, knitted as a big strip with short row shaping and then sewn together! Easiest sock pattern ever.
We offer unique hand-spun yarn in wool or alpaca or any combination of those two fibres, in a variety of yarn types such as singles, two ply, Navajo ply (a singles yarn in a very long crochet stitch twisted back the other way to make a type of 3 ply), cabled yarn, slubby yarn, tweed, and of course with any combination of colours that we can dye. This variety of yarn is sure to offer unique character to your next project!
We offer custom dyeing of our yarn or roving and have a variety of colours to choose from; contact us if you have a colour combination you are looking for.
If you are interested in spinning your own yarn then consider our roving. The 50/50 alpaca/wool blend is $50.00 a pound and we have quite a variety of earth tones including chocolate, caramel, cafe latte, French vanilla (higher alpaca content), cream, and tiramisu. We have two pure wool rovings, one is pink Suffolk (bubblegum pink) and a dark heather gray from a Jacob sheep, which has some kempy fibre content. These are $20 per pound.
